De De Pyar De 2

However ' Educated, progressive people, modern ' a family might claim themselves to be, which father would want to have a son- in-law of his own age ?
But, the stubborn daughter would not take the rejection; and the protective father would not want to lose his daughter to the other man!
So, the drama begins - the drama of father - daughter tricking one another into making the marriage impossible - possible.
Who wins in the end? Obviously the daughter - since De De Pyar De 2 is a comedy. How? Need to go through the movie on Netflix.
The movie was released worldwide on November 14, 2025 and on Netflix on January 9, 2026.
Starring: Ajay Devgn as Ashish;Rakul Preet Singh as Ayesha; R.Madhavan as Ayesha 's father;Gautami Kapoor as Ayesha's mother;Meezan Jafri as Aditya, Ayesha's childhood friend and others.
Director: Anshul Sharma
Producers: Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ankur Garg, Luv Ranjan, Richard de Varda
Both Ashish and Ayesha live in London . Ashish is almost double of Ayesha's age. Ashish is divorced , with a son and a daughter almost as old as Ayesha.
In part 1 Ayesha had been a guest at Ashish's home in India , where she was taken to be introduced to Ashish’s family.
Now , in part 2 it is Ashish's turn to meet Ayesha's family to take their consent in the marriage.
Ayesha's father, rather, her parents would do anything to prevent the marriage - persuade the daughter into not marrying the elderly and irresponsible man who had escaped to London leaving behind his small kids, bully her, would be hard on her, would even bring in a young suitor , Ayesha's childhood friend, Aditya, to make the daughter fall for him.
The comic irony here is that Ayesha's parents had always tried to keep Ayesha away from this very guy during childhood, lest the two fall in love.
Though all acted well, I was especially impressed with Madhavan's acting. It was as if his eyes, forehead and lips did all the talking in the movie.
The movie started very well. It appeared very promising. The movie had all the ingredients of a light - hearted comedy- a beautiful house , a family with perfect relationships (caring parents , caring in- laws , Sweet Nanad- Bhabi relationship ), hilarity , humour , high energy, light romance, lightly touching emotions, a perfect comic timing , actors doing justice to their roles , melodious songs , even dance numbers .
However , the movie fell beneath our expectation towards the end. The movie lapsed into farce and melodrama towards the rear end.
Yet I would suggest you go for the movie. It is entertaining while keeping up social cultural values . It is a family entertainment with occasion for loud laughter like the shopping scene ; or the scene where Ashish is confused as how to address his mother- in law; whether to call her bhabiji, behenji or mummiji ; or dialogues like ' a man who does not take 'dal'(lentils) cannot be relied upon'; or the radio playing the song 'main kya karoon ram mujhe buddha mil gaya'
The filmmaker weaves in nostalgia in the film with the mention of kajol, Shah Rukh, Simran. Even a few scenes have elements from Dilwale Dulhaniya le Jayenge like stretches of farmland, cousins head over heels for Aditya, family gathering , Aditya in Shah Rukh style singing a song while playing a guitar ( though Shah Rukh played mandolin) - however, without the intensity and the rustic touch of DDLJ
Well, to sum it up , the movie is not all that bad. Only the end was too hurried, haphazard, farcical and a bit melodramatic. However , after a long time you come across a movie which gives scope for pure hearty laughter - at least you can laugh your fatigue out before you start another tiring week.
